  • Good question, thank you Alexandre.

The old app was built 7 years ago, a lot has happened in that time, one of the most crucial things being new frameworks being released. For us to adopt a whole new framework, we needed to completely rewrite the code of the app, that is why we spent the last two years building it.

With the new framework comes a lot of clear benefits.

    • Most importantly is the ability for the framework to run on both iOS and Android with minimal adaptations.
    • It allows us to adapt the app to phone devices in a reasonable way as well.
    • It allows us to implement changes a lot faster
    • It allows us to implement the same look and feel from the reader in the browser
    • It opens the door for further feature implementation like reviewer in the app and other nice functions
    • On top of all this we have clear improvements in speed load times

Lastly, by creating a whole new app, we were able to release it and have it running side by side to the old app, allowing customers who wanted to test the new app before releasing it to the crew, to work with it while still having the old app as backup.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Have a great day :)

  • Dear Stefan,

Sorry to butt into this conversation.

We have a query from our airline regarding the new WebManuals application and its implementation. We started working with both applications a little over 1 year ago, and we would like to know the status of the new application and if we can discontinue the use of the old application and work 100% with the new one.

the new application seems stable, and 100% operational, but we would like to know your point of view and why the old one is still available.

Thanks in advance for your reply.

    Best Regards,
