devices management
Good morning,
Is very difficult to control devices docuemnts download with the webmanuals interface. There aren't filters or options that allow us to properly control the EFB devices. Would be good developing this option a little bit more, in order we can have a better control. We mix EFB users and non EFB users and the devices control is different but we have no way to create groups or filter the list.
We would like to be able to select which users and devices are EFB devices in order we can filter them later.
At least would be good to be able to export the list in order we can filter it with an excel.
Suggestions to manage this issue are more than welcome :)
Thank you

Hello Pilar,
I was discussing it with the product team, and they wanted to know, will it be ok if there is a filter in the device list to filter on specific EFB roles? (the same as in settings --> Under EFB role configuration). If that is the case, we do agree that it would make sense to filter it!
Hello everyone,
I agree with Pilar. The devices section needs an update.
Virginie Bracq what you suggested would already really help. So yes, I think you should do that.
In my eyes it is also very important, that all the "old" devices can be sorted much better. I signed up on roughly 60 different devices already but I am currently only using one. But all of the devices show up in this section and there is no way to directly see which one is the active one. maybe it would help, if there would be a note that says, when the device was seen last (so when was the last login to this device or similar). In this way you would see right away which one is the active one and which one is an old one and can be deleted.
I really want to be able to tidy up the devices section without deleting an active device that one might be using at that moment. In the end only the active devices would be left and I can clearly see the actual status of a users device.
best,
Matthias Loesch
Hello everyone,
Thanks for your comments Matthias. I agree with the option Virginie Bracq gave, it would help a lot.
The point Mathias mention would be also important, the last device conection would help a lot and would give us more control.
In case it helps, what I normally do, ( it is not perfect but right know is the only way I have ) is: I delete all the devices quite often, then only the ones that log in again, will appear, is the way I found to have an updated list.
Best regards,
Pilar Garces.
What is actually happening if a device is deleted?
Does the user have to download all documents again?
Hi,
As far as I know, an talking form my experience, the device has no effect. The only thing that happens is that it is not shown in the list on the admin end, until this device log into the system again.
But maybe is a good idea that somebody from the Webmanuals teams explains what exactly happens when you do that.
Hello everyone!
To answer Matthias Loesch once a device is deleted, it's just deleted from the list, and when it connects to our system, its UUID is recorded in our system again.
After discussing all ideas with the product team, we have created two improvement tickets, MANUALS-7289 for the filter on EFB specific roles and MANUALS-7290 to create a sortable column with the las login.
Thank you for your feedback!
