Allow user printing on document level

Hello everyone,

One of our users asked me to print certain pages of a manual, because user printing was not permitted for this manual.
There was actually no reason not to allow user printing, however for some other manuals having the same document type it is required not to allow it.
Since our document types are mainly set up in such a way that we mainly want to group manuals having the same design and workflow, and already this creating too many different document types, I can not properly steer the allowance to print.
This is why I asked for a way to allow user printing on a document level.
In my view this not something that needs be steered for a whole group of manuals but rather specific for each manual.

I'd like to hear what you think about it and if there is any support for it. :-)

Have a great day everyone!

  • Hi Michel Sidler,

We have received this feedback in the past, but the product team has informed us that we will not be focusing on this at the moment.

    Thank you for your idea!

  • We have certain documents that should be allowed to be printed or downloaded. However, when this functionality is enabled, it applies to all documents for all users, making it impossible to protect our documents appropriately.

It would be very helpful if printing /downloading permissions could be configured at the individual document level rather than globally.
