Adding temporary Hints/Alerts to pages of already published documents

Dear Team and Community

We publish urgent, short-notice or temporary changes to manuals as so called Operational Notes. As the revision process for the manuals can be quite long, these Operational Notes can be in force for up to 12 months.

Up to now, while working with PDF documents, we were able to place a hint to the respective Operational Note on the respective page of the existing manual, so crews were aware of the changed content affecting that chapter when reading the main manual (see blue text below):

We would like to have such a function for the Webmanuals Reader, too, but couldn't find a solution yet

  • working with changelog comments won't work. Because we already work extensively with those, so any new ones pointing to an Operational Note wouldn't be noticed

  • adding a Review Comment could work - but again, these review comments are very low-profile and won't catch the attention of the end users

Therefore we'd love to have a funtion to add a temporary, highly visible comment to an already published manual - for example with a red triangle or an "attention sign". It could also be styled the same as the normal changelog comments (Delta sign), but maybe with the option to add a "red" comment instead of the normal black one. It could look similar to this:

Thank you very much for taking this into consideration, and helping crews keep an overview of all relevant documents!
