Timing on Documents prior to Active Accept
It would be a fantastic improvement to have a time record against each document. From the time when users open the document to when they actively accept that they have ready and understood the document.
Have this information as a clear export report also.
User - Role - Document - Date assigned - Date accepted (checked out) - Time Open - Time accepted

They have this for Announcements and it is very helpful! There is a column for when the Announcement was opened, and then when the Announcement was acknowledged, with time and date for both (see screenshot). Like you, I'd like to see this in the Control function for documents that have the Active Accept.
