Rename “Submit Form” to “Reset Form” to prevent user confusion
The current label “Submit Form” is misleading and does not reflect the actual system behaviour.
When users select this button, the form is not submitted or sent to any recipient. Instead, the system saves the data internally in Web Manuals and clears (resets) the form.
This leads to consistent confusion, because users expect that “Submit” means sending the form (for example via e-mail). In practice:
- No form is sent
- The form is cleared
- Users are unsure what has happened
- In some cases, users lose their data because they did not export the PDF first
Requested change
Rename the button:
“Submit Form” → “Reset Form”
Why this matters
- Aligns the label with the actual functionality
- Prevents misunderstandings about sending data
- Makes it clear that the form will be emptied
- Reduces user errors and unnecessary support questions
Context / Use case
For workflows such as digitally completed exam forms, users must first export the PDF and send it separately. Since automatic sending is not available, the current label actively creates friction.
This change is a simple interim improvement that can significantly improve usability without changing core functionality.
Impact
Small UI change, large user benefit.
