Unprompted changes to documents when put into draft mode

Is anyone having problems with unprompted formatting changes? It would happen irregularly but in the last month it has become an issue every time I go to edit a document. Paragraphs change to hyperlinked text,text moves from one section of a page to another etc. Today, the changes occur as soon as the document is put in draft mode.
