Pilot Training and Trainer Functions

Training content, training los, certificates, recurrent trainings. All this is an important part of aviation and safety. I think it should be implemented into Webmanuals not only because trainings are based on training plans, training syllabus and Manuals, but also because it can be audited and tracked much easier.
At the moment we use the forms module to let the trainee confirm that he attended the training and let the trainer also confirm that he held the training course.
It works well but:
here are some Ideas on how it could be implemented into Webmanuals:
- The Trainer can schedule a training and select trainees for it. Only the involved users have access to confirm that they attended/held the training.
- The module gives an overview of who has confirmed and how still hast do do it.
- Users can see what they attended and what still needs to be confirmed. They can also see whats coming up.
- The Trainer can connect different sections from a manual to be in relation to this training. That way an auditor can see what revision status was current at the time of the training. It is also important to see where the content of the trainings come from and what is needed to attend the training. Users might be asked to read an accept specific parts of a manual or document (even if the document was checked out once before).
- Certificate of attendance - The trainer would create a training certificate once everything was confirmed by the user. The certificate could then be accessible for the user and the Trainer on the portal.
What is needed for this?
- Add user Type - Trainer (Same rights like an editor but without the editing functions)
- Add module - Training (Trainings can be added, prepared, reviewed and distributed. Overview of trainings available, missing confirmations and training status of different users.)
- Add training Archive - All trainings will be stored, viewed and exported if needed. Requirement by the authority!
- Add Certificate creator - This function generates a certificate upon the trainers needs. It auto fills in the selected user and training details.
- Add personal functions for Users - e.g. Trainings attended, logIns statistik, personal documents (training certificates, approvals, special documents, IDs, ...)

Thank you very much for the well described improvement suggestion.
I really like your idea, and I see the value in adding a training center functionality to the system.
The issue is that it is quite far out of scope with what we have defined for Web Manuals core product.
This could be a great add-on function in the future, but for now I need to focus our development resources on further improving our core functionalities.
I would love to revisit this in the future with you.
