Tab refresh upon click: an obstacle to productivity

I'm preparing to conduct an audit and need, therefore, to check the corresponding compliance library. Here is the issue, which I find the most unfavourable in Web Manuals:

  • In a compliance library, I click a link to a manual to verify if the connection is still valid;
  • To return to the compliance library, I obviously have to click its tab;
  • Clicking the tab collapses the entire library, and I have re-expand it to get back to where I was.

I'm not in the position to judge how important it is for the WM's system to do a full refresh every time a tab is clicked, but as a user, I can tell that this is very often a hindrance to productivity. Imagine how much time is wasted having to re-expand the library many times for a single library. It basically ruins the whole benefit of using the IQSMS compliance connector.

Another case: checking for warnings in a manual. Why does the system have to run the routine again if the tab is clicked? Depending on the manual's size, it takes some valuable time.

Therefore, my opinion is that the refreshing of tabs upon click is a core functionality that should be reviewed for the benefit of us users.

Why not simply let the user decide when to refresh?
